2016 marked 3 milestones in our family, all birthdays. We were not so much into fanfare, nothing big, just time with the family… which made it so much more memorable and special.
I just lost a dear friend today… well, more than a friend, one of my four-legged babies.
Father’s Day is just around the corner and miss celebrating it with my Dad. He passed away more than 3 years ago.
My brother is the other Dad in the house, and the only male (aside from Milo and Gandalf), so will be focusing all our attention on him. Lucky bro- having all us girls pamper you! We love you!
The Catholic world celebrated Easter yesterday. We were up by 6:00 A.M., preparing for mass at 8:00. Most of had a late night so it was kind of hard to wake up but we just had to. After a steaming cup of coffee and some whole wheat banana bagels, I was fully awake.
June is one of my favorite months- Father’s Day and my birthday almost always coincide on the same day or one after the other. This year, it’s half the happiness. My father died last year and celebrating the holiday without him just did not seem right. So, my sister and I, together with our mom, decided to visit Singapore, where we were supposed to go with my Dad last year. It was also a birthday gift from my travel buddy, hehehe.
Last 1 April, we had a mini clan reunion. Relatives from the US, all children of Jose Barcelona, visited the Philippines. A cousin from Germany, representing one of the brothers, also came. It was quite a small affair with lots of food (the most important element). As in gatherings, picture taking was non-stop. Here’s a group picture of the cousins who arrived that day (maybe just 1/18th of the clan):
Ah, you could just imagine how many more were missing that day, hehehe. I do hope we have a grand reunion, preferably in Batanes, where the clan is based. Now, that would be something to see…
