A Project Worth Repeating

Every New Year’s day, after mass, we have lunch in a restaurant.  This has been a sort of tradition for the family and something we all look forward to.  Days, or even weeks before, we scout around places to eat and check if they are open on New Year’s day (most are closed).  Last month, on my way to the mall, I happen to see this newly-opened pizza place, Project Pie.  I’ve read and heard about it, but the first place they had was just too far.  So I was really excited when I saw it just a few blocks from our place.  I suggested this to my siblings and it was set.

Mommy Syndrome

I have a concern.

Sugar has had three litters in the past two years.  My two males have been neutered almost the same time.  I personally do not want her to get pregnant again and have been diligently watching over her, making sure she does not go over my brother’s house and meet up with Hagrid or let her out on the street (where she first got pregnant).  It’s hard for me to give out puppies, knowing some are not that serious when it comes to taking care of them.  They find them cute at the start then totally ignore them when they’ve outgrown their cuteness.

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

It’s a Monday, start of another week.  This morning, traffic on my usual route to work was heavy.  A normal 20-30 minute drive ended in an hour.  At the end of the traffic, there was no reason for the long wait; no accident, no road repair, nothing.  Hmm, must be one of those let’s-cause-a-traffic-for-no-reason day.  Anyway, I was rewarded with this sight after all that wait:

Like a painting, it was really soothing.  Have a good Monday!

Easy Tuesday

It’s a Tuesday. That means it’s commute day for me. There was nothing for me to download yet for work so I left the house early. It’s also Holy Week so there were less people on the train. Most of them must have gone home to the provinces to observe the last few days of Lent so Manila in the following days will be really “spacious”- nice!

Barnes and Noble has come out with their top twenty paranormal fantasy novels of the last decade, and FOR A FEW DEMONS MORE, the Hollows debut into hardcover in 2007, has made not only the list, but took the top spot! The list was compiled by Paul Goat Allen, one of the top reviewers of the genre, who had been keeping his pulse on the expanding, ever changing, wonderful oddness of what makes up urban fantasy for longer than I can remember. Being here is an honor.

Go on over and check out the list. It feels really good to be rubbing shoulders with the peers in my field, but there are a few titles there that I’ve not heard of, and I’m going to have to check them out. And drop in a comment while you’re there! Everyone likes to be appreciated, even reviewers.
